Car Crashes Into Baton Rouge Home After Person in Vehicle Shot

Police in Baton Rouge are investigating a wild incident in the city after a car was shot at and then the vehicle crashed into a home on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, the shooting took place in the 5300 block of Monarch Avenue just before 6:00 pm on Sunday.

Officers said that shots were fired at a car, hitting the vehicle and an occupant in the vehicle. After the shooting, the car crashed into a home.

It is unclear if the victim was the driver or a passenger. That person was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No other information was immediately made available by investigators.
