The Carencro Police Department has a message for those preparing to attend the annual Mardi Gras Parade this weekend.

In a statement released today, Friday morning, via Facebook the department is warning citizens to NOT park vehicles on the side of the road prior to Saturday morning (February 23, 2019)

For several years people would park their vehicles on the side of the road days before the parade to "mark their spot," but that now seems to be a thing of the past.

Those attending the parade are free to park their vehicles on the side of the road starting Saturday morning, the day of the parade. Note, roads along the parade route close at 10 am Saturday morning.

Here's the statement that was posted on the department's Facebook page early Friday morning.
