Chevron is extending a hand of support to help fuel Southwest Louisiana's recovery from Hurricane Laura. They literally are fueling the recovery with the giveaway of free gasoline and gift cards. The giveaway will take place today (September 8) beginning at 9 am.

The company plans to giveaway 8,000 gallons of fuel and $15,000 in gas gift cards to local residents and first responders in need. The giveaway is done in conjunction with Louisiana Coastal Relief and Recovery a charitable organization and Retif Oil and Fuel, a Chevron distributor.

The giveaway will take place at Grand Lake High School beginning at 9 am. The fuel and gas cards will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. Those interested in the free fuel or gas cards will need to come around behind the school's elementary wing to participate. The address of the school is 1039 LA-384 in Lake Charles.

You will need to bring a valid ID as proof of residency. Chevron is also coordinating employee supply drives and matching employees' charitable contributions as they, like many other employers in Southwest Louisiana are doing, to aid the community during this time of recovery from the storm.
