Chick-fil-A Honored Fallen Soldiers With ‘Missing Man Table’ [Video]
Chick-fil-A restaurants across the U.S. touchingly honored fallen soldiers on Memorial Day with a "Missing Man Table".
The National League of POW-MIA Families calls this display a "Missing Man Table". Traditionally, it's part of a ceremony in which someone reads a script explaining the meaning of every item at the table. Among the items on a "Missing Man Table" are a white tablecloth for the purity of the service members’ motives in serving, a pinch of salt for their families' tears and an empty chair that will never again be filled. Other items include a Bible, a red rose, an American flag and a candle.
Ann Mills-Griffiths, Chairman of the Board for The National League of POW-MIA Families tells Chick-fil-A “It shows the military service members and families that people care. it’s a wonderful education, especially for children and young adults, to learn more about what patriotism and commitment really mean.”
