Kansas City Cheifs player Husain Abdullah was given a 15 yard penalty in last night's game after the scored a touchdown, and prayed in celebration.

Husain Abdullah is Muslim, and after scoring the second touchdown of his career, got on his knees and touched his hands and head to the ground in Muslim prayer. He got a 15 yard penalty for "Unsportsmanlike Conduct".

What has people in a bit of a tizzy is that Husain was penalized, but time and time again we routinely see players make the sign of the cross in celebration with no penalties being called. Tim Tebow even made his prayer celebration famous.

In 2008, former VP of NFL Officiating, Mike Pereira, said that after a touchdown the only time a player will be allowed to go on his knees is when “you want to praise the Lord.”
