One of our favorite festivals happens later this summer -- the 2017 Delcambre Shrimp Festival!

Every year during the third weekend in August, Acadiana descends down to the banks of the Delcambre canal to celebrate all that is the delicacy known as tasty Louisiana gulf shrimp.

In addition to shrimp prepared anyway you can imagine, the festival includes carnival rides, a shrimp cook-off, blessing of the fleet and a huge fais-do-do with live music from the region's best artists.

As always, the Shrimp Festival is highlighted by a national act on Saturday night and this year's headliner is quite the south Louisiana favorite. The pride of Vidor, Texas, Clay Walker will be the featured performer this year.

The night before, another pretty cool guy will be headlining as Daryle Singletary wraps up the Friday night festivities.
