‘Cold Front’ Should Make Weekend Football Fabulous in Louisiana
(KMDL-FM) We are done with the preseason football from the Saints of the NFL, our college teams, LSU, Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns, and the McNeese Cowboys are primed and ready to hit someone in a different uniform, and high school football jamborees are set for the end of the week.
Based on the knowledge that football is beginning this weekend, that should tell you that cooler weather can't be too far behind. But this is South Louisiana, and we tend to cool off more slowly than other parts of the country. But we do have some good news for you if you were planning on attending a jamboree or a college contest this weekend.

We'd love to tell you that you're going to need a light jacket and some hot chocolate for this weekend's games, but that won't be the case. You might want a jacket just to protect you from a chance of a passing shower, but the temperatures will be warm enough to go without sleeves.
How Hot Will it Be Across Louisiana This Week?
The good news is that it won't be as hot as it's going to be the first few days of this week. This afternoon and Tuesday, we are expecting afternoon high temperatures in the mid-90s. By the end of the week, afternoon high temperatures will be a full five to seven degrees cooler since the afternoon high for Saturday is only forecast to be 88.

Football fans coming out to see the brand new Our Lady of Lourdes Stadium in Lafayette can expect temperatures in the upper 80s at game time. There will be a 40% chance of scattered showers in the area.
What is the Game Day Forecast for Ragin Cajuns and McNeese Football This Weekend?
With kickoff set for 6 pm on Saturday, temperatures will start to fall off rapidly after the game starts. By the time the end of the game rolls around, you can expect temperatures to be in the mid to upper 70s. Not hot, not cold, but actually really nice for sitting outside and enjoying football.
You can expect similar conditions in Lake Charles on Saturday when the McNeese Cowboys host Louisiana Christian University. Fans who will be traveling with LSU to Clemson, South Carolina, for their Saturday night game will find weather conditions even better. The forecast for that part of the country calls for sunny skies with a high near 81 on Saturday. Game time temperatures will fall into the 60s by the time the game ends.
