The 4th Annual Community Home Health and Hospice Gumbo Cook-Off takes place this Saturday, March 12, at Acadian Village.

For a $10 donation, you can sample all the gumbo you'd like, all the while helping a great organization.

The cook-off is in support of the non-profit foundation called "The Community Foundation", a sister company to Community Hospice Care that assists hospice patients and/or their families with who are having financial difficulties.  The event will provide funding to offset any expenses the patients or families incur throughout the duration of their care.  With your help, some of the items that have been provided are home modifications (handicap ramps, etc), utility bills, funeral and medical expenses.

If you'd like to enter a team into the cook-off, become a sponsor or purchase a vendor booth, contact JD Dugas at (337) 254-0508 or Katie LeBlanc at (337) 517-9245.  You can also check out the information provided on their Facebook page.

Entertainment this year features Johnny Chauvin & The Mojo Band and Jamie Bergeron & The Kickin' Cajuns.  Gates open at 9, music starts at 10.

New for this year is a dessert category!  There will also be bouncers for the kids, balloon artists and face painting, all on the beautiful, historic grounds of Acadian Village.
