Corrections Employee Busted For Pot In Allen Parish

A now former employee of the Allen Parish Corrections Department is facing drug charges after his arrest on Friday. Sheriff Doug Hebert says the employee, Michael Douglas James of Ville Platte, was found to be in possession of marijuana when he reported for work this past Friday.

According to reports James was observed to under the influence when he reported for his shift. Those suspicions were confirmed when James was taken into a supervisors office and questioned.

Deputies with the Allen Parish Sheriff's Department received permission to search James vehicle where a small quantity of marijuana was discovered. James also admitted to using the substance before arriving for work.

He is currently facing a charge of possession of marijuana. His bond was set at $1500.
