Photos shared on Facebook show a man dragging his daughter by her hair at a Cleveland, Texas Walmart while she allegedly begged for mercy.

Erika Burch says she was shopping when she saw the little girl crying. Upon closer examination she realized the girl's hair was wrapped around the shopping cart handle as the man pushed it down the aisles.

Burch said the little girl was pleading with her father to stop dragging her by her hair.

Please stop! I promise I won’t do it again! Please stop!

When she took photos of the man dragging the girl telling him to let her go, Burch says he told her to "mind her own business." That's when she flagged down an officer with the Cleveland Police Department.

Police told Burch the man has a right to discipline his child, but they were still seriously investigating the matter—applauding the woman for reporting what she saw in the Walmart store.

WKYC checked the Texas law on child abuse and found this:

According to Chapter 261 of the Family Code, child abuse is an act or omission that endangers or impairs a child’s physical, mental or emotional health and development. Child abuse may take the form of physical or emotional injury, sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, physical neglect, medical neglect, or inadequate supervision.
