New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton has a history of using defined motivational tactics.

Yesterday in the locker room, he tried a new one, and it reportedly went over very well. News of the story broke from a viral tweet from New Orleans attorney Jon DeTrinis.

DeTrinis is not a credentialed sports reporter, although he tweets about the Saints often, and is well connected in the New Orleans sports scene.

ESPN NFL Nation reporter Mike Triplett, who covers the Saints year round, confirmed DeTrinis' story.

Do you know very many people who wouldn't be motivated by a Super Bowl Championship AND $225,000?

I get what a few of you are likely telling yourself. They're playing for it already, so what would be the difference?

For the record, it was actually $201,000, but who's counting? It's over $200,000!

I guess if Payton wanted them to visualize it, he'd give them the perfect picture to do so.

New Orleans (13-3) hosts Phildelphia (10-7) in the NFC Divisional Playoff Round this Sunday afternoon at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Kickoff is set for 3:40.
