DJ Digital’s Seen So Many Success Stories at SoLACC
In the two decades or so that I've been in local radio, I've talked with SoLACC staff, students, and graduates more times than I can count.
Ditto for SLCC people, back when we all called it SLCC.
One thing that stands out to me time and time again is how this community college helps both traditional college students and what some might consider non-traditional students build their careers and find their version of success. I'm talking about not just recent high school graduates, but also students with kids old enough to BE in high school. Students who took a year off after high school ... and that year somehow turned into 5 years. Students with a job. Students with more than one job.
Students who don't know what they'll do with their education, and students who might not even know how they're going to finish their education.
As I told new graduates as the commencement keynote speaker, the key to so much of my success and SoLACC students' success can be summed up as: Make time for the important stuff and keep going.
It’s what we do. It’s how our parents figured things out. It’s how we’ve all found a way to make $5 last until Friday or made it down the entire length of Ambassador to Youngsville in 12 minutes. We just keep going. And while it’s not always glamorous… or one of those journeys that would go viral on social media—when we make the decision to commit to something and keep going, eventually, we end up somewhere.
So, if you're ready to think about continuing your education at SoLACC, I urge you to keep going. It's not too late to get started. Learn more and start your application today at solacc.edu/nottoolate.
