If you've been in a bar in south Louisiana in the last 39 years, then you've probably joined in on a wildly popular line dance to Ronnie Milsap's huge hit 'If You Don't Want Me To', otherwise known as 'The Freeze'. We doubt that the Country Music Hall of Famer would have known that his song would become a beloved part of every wedding, graduation and party in south Louisiana for years to come.

The song came out in 1980, and some south Louisiana filmmakers are setting about to try and explain the insane popularity of this country music classic in a short form documentary. You might remember that local legend Warren Storm recorded a version in 1992, and you can hear that in the video below.

Allison Bohl DeHart is co-directing the film with her husband Peter, and it is being produced by Rachel Nederveld. They are currently looking for local folks to interview who could have been involved in the super fun 'Freeze Parties' in the 1990's. And they also want to find out the origins on how the line dance became known as 'The Freeze'.

You can read more about the documentary from the Acadiana Advocate, and if you have any information to contribute to the documentary, they have an official Facebook page, and they can be contacted through that.
