Dodi Groves Memorial Witches Ride [PHOTOS]
The Dodi Groves Inaugural Witches Ride took place in Sugar Mill Pond, and the community went all out to support the event.
The event was held to raise money for the Dodi Groves Breast Cancer Fund, which will serve several South Louisiana parishes. The goal of the Dodi Groves Breast Cancer Fund is to support local cancer organizations with established breast health services and fill the gaps in Acadiana where those services are needed.
There were several breast cancer survivors on hand, and they each given a commemorative pin and had the chance to walk the catwalk on stage. There were prizes given for best-decorated broom (bicycle), best hat, best witch, and best-themed group.
The "Mardi Gras Witch's Broom" pictured below won the best-of competition.
Several friends of Dodi's daughter, Ava, dressed all in white and decorated their bicycles to fit their theme: Ava's Angels
Even the little ones had decorated bicycles.

Ava's Angels were the winners of the best-themed group award!
It was a great day of fundraising for a wonderful cause. We hope to see you for next year's event!
