Dolly Parton has practiced humility on a huge scale lately, and I think it's a lesson we all need.

First, she declined a Presidential Medal of Freedom from the last administration not once, but TWICE! According to NPR, Dolly turned down the medal because she was putting others in front of herself. The first time she was offered the medal, her husband was ill; the second time, she didn't want to travel due to COVID restrictions.

And now, she has turned down the offer of having a statue of her likeness erected in the Tennessee Capitol Building.

"Given all that is going on in the world", she said, "I don't think that putting me on a pedestal is appropriate at this time."

Dolly Parton is a national treasure. Keep doing good, Dolly!
