8-year-old Jamal Robinson died Friday night at a Baton Rouge hospital.

He was the only person injured in the drive-by shooting.

Charges against 26-year-old Jonas Hawk of Jeanerette are being upgraded to 1 count of First Degree Murder and 14 counts of Attempted First Degree Murder.

26-year-old Jonas Hawk of Jeanerette faces 15 counts of Attempted First Degree Murder following a shooting Tuesday afternoon outside of a home in the 2200 block of N. Neco Town Road.

Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. Col. Wendell Raborn says the 8-year-old victim was with a group of people when Hawk – identified by witnesses - allegedly pulled up in a gray vehicle and began shooting into the group.

Investigators learned from witnesses that there was an ongoing dispute between Hawk and the victim’s uncle. The uncle was included in the group of 15 people.
