Edwin Edwards Out of the Hospital

Former Governor Edwin Edwards, in the hospital since Wednesday with pneumonia, has been discharged.

Edwards' wife, Trina Scott Edwards, posted the following on her Facebook page this morning.

Edwin is up and around and feeling much better thanks to the doctors, nurses, and rest of the hospital staff. He received excellent treatment and everyone was so kind and helpful, but we're happy to be headed home.

On Thanksgiving, Trina posted a picture of her husband playing cards in his hospital bed with their young son Eli.

"Thank you all for the prayers, messages, and phone calls," Trina Edwards also wrote this morning. "We're very blessed to be supported by such an amazing group of family and friends and we love you all."

Edwin Edwards is 88 years old.
