Company Will Pay You $2,500 to Use Special July 4th Quarter

(KMDL-FM) Would you be willing to ask someone to look at your .25-cent quarter in exchange for $2,500? There is a company, Numismatic Guaranty Company, that is willing to do exactly that for one paying customer who submits a special July 4th quarter for grading.

U.S. Mint to Release July 4th Quarters - One Could be Worth $2,500 to You

In case you didn't know, the United States Mint is releasing 250,000 quarters with the "July 4th" stamped into them. Those quarters will be randomly mixed with other 2026 Declaration of Independence Quarters before being sent out to banks and financial institutions. So, you're going to have to take a moment and actually look at your change.

Not only will you need to look at your change, but you're actually going to have to spend cash to get change since most of us swipe or tap a debit card instead of carrying cash. But if you do purchase things the old-fashioned way, look for a quarter that has a dual date stamp. By dual date stamp, we mean it will have "1776-2026" engraved into the coin.

Other key factors to look for when finding a .25-cent quarter that could be worth $2,500 are the words "July 4th" and a depiction of Thomas Jefferson. Jefferson not only served as our nation's third president but was also the principal author of the Declaration of Independence. That's what's on the "heads" side of the coin.

On the "tails" side of the coin, you'll see a depiction of the Liberty Bell ringing. There will also be the words United States of America, Liberty, Quarter Dollar, and the Declaration of Independence as well.

There is a Catch in Turning a .25-Cent Quarter into $2,500

You have to be a member of the Numismatic Guaranty Company to submit your quarter for grading. The cost of membership starts at $35 annually. So, you will have to make your own call as to whether this exercise is worth your time and perhaps $35.
