Fire Truck Stolen from Washington Parish Fire Station, Suspect Still on the Loose
A fire truck was stolen over the weekend from a Louisiana fire station and authorities are still searching for the suspect.
The Washington Parish Sheriff's Office said the fire truck was stolen from the District 1 Fire Station on Hwy 25 South around 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 12.
Later that afternoon the truck made a stop at East Fork Grocery in Tangipahoa at 5:55 pm. The driver reportedly got out of the truck and tried to get into the store attendant's vehicle but was stopped by the attendant.
The man got back into the stolen fire truck and continued to drive away.
The truck was found later around 9:30 pm abandoned near a Dollar General with the engine still running.
When the vehicle was found the man was nowhere to be found. It is unclear as to why the man stole the fire truck.
The Washington Parish Sheriff's Office describes the suspect as a white male with blonde hair and a mustache. He has tattoos on his arms and was last seen with no shirt and khaki-colored shirts.
