Around 1985, on the 'Late Night with David Letterman' Show, two of the most famous, and infamous, musical artists in history made a rare appearance together for an interview.

Waylon Jennings, and Johnny Cash were great friends, but were very seldom in the same place at the same time for talk shows, or anything other than a live performance, so that makes this clip all the more fascinating. And they don't hold back about their drug and alcohol abuse, being roommates, and playing new songs written by Kris Kristofferson.

As a matter of fact, Waylon had only been sober for 11 months when this was taped, and was up front about previously spending $1,000 A DAY on drugs.

We miss them....
