The 2023 NFL Draft wrapped up on Saturday and 259 players heard their name called as a draftee. But, of course, as true football fans know, that doesn't mean that really good players aren't still left.

As the draft concluded, a multitude of players were offered contracts to join teams as undrafted free agents. Some, get really nice contracts to do so. (One of the New Orleans Saints' UDFAs got a contract for over $200,000.)

And as we've seen in recent years, there are plenty of Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns that are NFL-caliber players. After the dust settled yesterday, it appears that four former Cajuns will get an opportunity to compete for a roster spot in the NFL.

Of course, this is in addition to the lone UL player that was drafted. Linebacker Andre Jones heard his name called in the seventh round (pick 233) by the Washington Commanders.

(Wide receiver Michael Jefferson would likely have been drafted too but, as many of you know, he was involved in a devastating car crash a few weeks ago that will keep him out of football for at least one season.)

Here is the list of Ragin' Cajuns to sign undrafted contracts in the NFL:

Johnny Lumpkin - Tight End
Seattle Seahawks

Chris Smith - Running Back/Kick Returner
Seattle Seahawks

John Stephens Jr - Wide Receiver
Dallas Cowboys

Bralen Trahan - Safety
Chicago Bears

Best of luck to these fine young men and we hope to see all of you playing on Sundays this fall.
