One of the most important things you can do as a parent is to make sure your little one is safely traveling in a properly secured car seat. However, it can be pretty tough getting that car seat secured properly.

From 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, September 26, the Louisiana Passenger Safety Task Force along with the Louisiana State Police will conduct a state-wide "Free Child Seat Check".

Lisa Freeman, executive director of the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission tells KTBS.com “This is a great opportunity to have certified technicians show a parent or caregiver which seat is right for a child and how to install it properly for maximum protection”.

In addition to tomorrow's event, all State Police troops are designated as certified fitting stations. You can see a full list of stations at lahighwaysafety.org.

You can have your child seat checked tomorrow (09/26/20), free of charge 9 a.m. to noon at the Goodwill Donation Center, 2435 W. Congress Street, Lafayette.
