Governor Edwards Set To Address UL Graduates Friday
Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards will be in Lafayette on Friday morning. The Governor is the featured speaker at the University of Louisiana's Fall Commencement ceremonies.
Those ceremonies are scheduled to take place at Lafayette's Cajundome Friday, December 14th at 11 AM. During these general assembly ceremonies, undergraduate degrees, as well as Masters and Doctoral degrees, will be conferred. Alumnus Winfred Sibille, ’51, will be awarded an honorary doctorate during the General Assembly.
Parking for members of the public who plan to attend ceremonies at the Cajundome and Convention Center will be at Cajun Field. Public parking for ceremonies at Bourgeois Hall will be at Blackham Coliseum and at Cajun Field.
Lafayette motorists are reminded to anticipate heavier than usual traffic in and around the Cajundome before and after the ceremonies. You might also want to consider your lunch plans for Friday too since many graduates and their families will take advantage of Lafayette's amazing food scene to celebrate this milestone in their lives.
