Gumbo Cookoff In New Iberia This Weekend [Video]

This weekend the Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce hosts the 23rd annual World Championship Gumbo Cook-Off, one of the most awesome events all year!

While the gumbo competition itself is on Sunday, Friday evening kicks off the event weekend with great music and popular food items. On Saturday, there are bands all day, down town shopping deals, museum tours and forty-plus food booths cooking anything but gumbo for lunch.

On Sunday, bands start mid-morning and tasting begins at 11:00 AM. By 3:30 PM , they can tell you who's got the best gumbo in the world! So head over to Bouligny Plaza in New Iberia, and get ready for some good eatin', ya'll!
