Harvey Forces High School Football Cancellations And Changes

This is usually one of the most anticipated weekends in Acadiana all year long. It's the opening weekend of high school football and for college football. This year, because of Hurricane Harvey and the devastation that storm has wrought, my excitement has been tempered dramatically.

We have received reports that the following contests scheduled for Friday across Acadiana have been cancelled or postponed.

Cancelled:

Sulphur @ Carencro

Church Point @ Jennings

Welsh @ Rayne

Elton @ Lake Arthur

Delcambre @ South Cameron

The following games have either changed venues, times, or both.

St.Martinville @ New Iberia will be played Saturday, September 2 at 10 AM

Comeaux @ Cecilia will now be played at Teurlings Catholic Stadium Friday at 7 PM

Teurlings @ Breaux Bridge will now be played at St. Martinville Friday at 7 PM
