Help Out While You Have Fun

If there is one thing we really know how to do in Acadiana it's have a good time. Most of the time when we have those good times, we are helping out a friend and a neighbor and today is a great day for you to do both.

There are two big events happening today that are guaranteed to deliver fun and make life in South Louisiana a lot better.

In Opelousas this morning, the Jeep Jaunt Jam is set to begin at ten am. The Jeep Jaunt Jam is the official opening event of the Jeep Jaunt a fund raising effort for the American Lung Association.

I am very proud to say that Jeep Jaunt was started by one of our own Town Square Media employees JayCee from our sister station KTDY. The Jeep Jaunt Jam and the Jeep Jaunt are both fun events that you and your family can be a part of. Jaryd Lane will be performing for the event plus there will be food and drink available. The activities take place at Sterling Chrysler Jeep  Dodge Ram, I-49 at the Cresswell Lane exit.

In Lafayette, The Games of Acadiana get underway at ten am too. This event is a benefit for Miles Perret Cancer Services. Miles Perret Cancer Services provides non-medical assistance for people and families dealing with cancer.

The money raised here, stays here and it helps local people learn more about their disease, how to cope with cancer and most importantly how to continue the quality of life during their treatment.

This year the Games of Acadiana feature a lot of fun activities for kids, teenagers, young adults and even the seniors can get in on the fun. Activities will take place inside the air conditioned Cajundome and the Cajundome convention center.
