(KMDL-FM) In almost every industry, there are behind-the-scenes operations that the operators of that industry would just as soon you didn't know anything about. In Louisiana, the boudin industry comes to mind.

The less you know about boudin, the better you'll like it. But there is a flip side to that coin; just as you and I want to know more about the food we eat, it would stand to reason that the places that serve food would want to know more about us.

Texas Roadhouse is a popular establishment here in the Gulf South. Nationwide, the franchise has 736 locations, with most of them being in Texas. In Louisiana, you can find Texas Roadhouse locations in Lafayette, Lake Charles, Baton Rouge, Denham Springs, and Alexandria.

The restaurant offers casual dining at family prices. It's a place where you can choose your own steak or choose other items that come with a side of "Texas flair".

Naturally, there is chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken, select seafood dishes, salads, veggies, and, according to some Texas Roadhouse customers, a side order of nosy added at no charge.

Why Do Some People Say There Are Cameras in the Lights at Texas Roadhouse?

How would you feel if you knew that there was a camera focused on you and your table watching every bite you take and perhaps listening in on your table-top conversations? I am sure a lot of you just felt a very creepy vibe slither up and down your spine. One TikTok influencer believes that is what is going on at Texas Roadhouse.

That is a video from TikTok influencer @zandermarlow. If you look at the video, you can see the camera pan up to the light bulb above the table. The bulb does look a bit suspicious. It certainly doesn't look like the light bulbs I have at my house.

And, since we know there is technology available that would allow someone to put a camera in a lightbulb, that assertion by the TikToker certainly seems as if it could be plausible.

In a story published on the website brobible, author Braden Bjella explored that assertion by the TikTok influencer and reached out to Texas Roadhouse to get their take on the claim that, in addition to serving damn fine rolls, they are watching every bite you take.

Texas Roadhouse Responds to Claims of Cameras in Light Fixtures at Tables

You can read the Texas Roadhouse response concerning the cameras in the lightbulbs question on the brobible site. But we can tell you in a nutshell, they denied the accusation. The light bulbs they are using could be very similar to this kind you see pictured below, available from Amazon.com.

In fact, they explained that the bulbs were "silver bowl bulbs", which are also sold under other names, but the idea behind the bulbs is to diffuse the light so it's not so harsh on those seated directly below it.

You'll probably see similar light bulbs in use in other restaurants where indirect lighting would lead to a more pleasing ambiance and atmosphere. We should be thankful that Texas Roadhouse is so confident in its food that it is okay with us seeing it in full light. That's probably why some restaurants keep the dining room so dark, right?

And because the Internet is the Internet, people are not buying the Texas Roadhouse explanation, while others are defending the practice, saying they have the same kind of lightbulbs in their own homes.

I just wish we could confirm whether or not Texas Roadhouse will be selling "Take Home Rolls" for the holidays. There's always a rumor that they will, then we hear they won't. Who can live on such a roller coaster?
