Honey Boo Boo's mama, June Shannon, doesn't seem like the sharpest knife in the drawer, but she's actually done something to combat that image. She wants to be smart with their TV money.

For example, all of Honey Boo Boo's money is going into a trust fund that she won't be able to touch until she's 21. (She could use it to pay for school or in the event of an emergency.)

June says, "I want my kids to look back and say, 'Mama played it smart.  Not like those other reality TV people.'  TLC puts the money into the girls' trust accounts for me and then I get an email telling me how much everyone gets."

The family reportedly gets $15,000 to $20,000 per episode with most of it being split between the five girls: Honey Boo, who's seven...Lauryn who's 12...Jessica, who's 15...Anna, who's 18...and the baby, Kaitlyn.

June says the family is still living off of Sugarbear's job as a contractor. She claims they are not cashing big checks from TLC. Their only big purchase since becoming famous was a 2005 Ford Expedition.

June adds, "You're never gonna see me drive a Range Rover or a Mercedes.  I'll drive one if someone else pays for it.  Never gonna live above my means."
