Playing an early matinee game on MLK day did nothing to disrupt the offensive flow of the New Orleans Hornets, as they won for the first time this season when surrendering 100+ points.

Ryan Anderson scored 27 off the bench, leading the Hornets to an authoritative 114-105 victory at the Hive.

On a day when the Kings franchise learned of their inevitable move to Seattle, the Hornets took advantage of Sacramento's weak help defense, leading to many open looks. No one benefited more than Anderson, who was 7-14 from beyond the arc. Jason Smith (pictured) joined Anderson with a solid performance off the pine, scoring 8 points and pulling down 7 boards.

Starters Greivis Vasquez (19 points, 11 assists, 7 rebounds) and Al-Farouq Aminu (14 points, 11 rebounds) each finished with double-doubles, while Anthony Davis (11 points, 6 rebounds, 3 blocks) and Eric Gordon (16 points) each reached double-figures.

Davis missed the second half with a left ankle sprain. He played only 15 minutes before he stepped on an officials foot on the baseline and suffered the injury. He missed 11 games earlier this season with the same injury.

After struggling early in the season, the young Hornets have now won 7 of their last 9.

New Orleans must now prepare for a three-game stretch of Southwest divisional foes. Wednesday they travel to San Antonio for a 7:30 matchup with the Spurs, then return to the Hive Friday for a 7:00 battle with the Houston Rockets, followed by a 6:00 Sunday road game with the Memphis Grizzlies.
