Hot Air Balloon And Beer Festival Set For Lake Charles
Not many of us are fans of hot air, especially with heat advisories and heat indices in the triple-digit range. However, when hot air is surrounded by brightly colored fabric that has been sewn into various shapes and that fabric is attached to a gondola below, we tend to like it a lot better.
There will certainly be a lot to like at this weekend's Southwest Louisiana Hot Air Baloon Festival and Beerfest 2019. The two-day event is set for this Friday and Saturday at Chennault International Airport in Lake Charles. As you've probably figured out by the title, this event is also a lot more than just balloons.
Granted, the big balloons will certainly take center stage during their "twilight glows" set for about 8:30 each evening. The event is actually broken up into two unique days. The events on Friday are being billed as Faith and Family Friday Night. During the Friday presentation, there will not be alcohol sold. Saturday will be the day for drinkers as the festival hosts a Beerfest in addition to balloons.
Tethered rides in some of the hot air balloons will be available during the event. Plus there will be fireworks on both Friday and Saturday night too. Saturday's musical line up includes fan favorites The Molly Ringwalds and Dustin Sonnier.
There are several ticket options available. General admission tickets are just $15 and kids aged 14 and under are admitted free. Tickets for the BeerFest and VIP Tickets are also available. Tickets may be purchased online. The festival gates will open at 3 Friday afternoon and at Noon on Saturday.
