Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) will be holding the next Household Hazardous Waste Day on Saturday, March 6 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Cajundome.

Residents in the City of Lafayette and unincorporated areas of Lafayette Parish will be able to get rid of unwanted household chemicals to be recycled or properly destroyed.

Some of the items typically brought in include paint, paint products, poison, chemical cleaners, gasoline, fluorescent tubes, alkaline batteries, and mercury. However, LCG is unable to accept electronics at this event.

LCG says that any latex paint that is dropped off will be re-blended and packaged for Lafayette Habitat for Humanity to use. The paint re-blending not only provides a needed product benefiting a great cause but it also significantly reduces waste and saves on disposal costs.

This event is free for those who live in the City of Lafayette or unincorporated areas of the Parish.

Attendees should enter the Cajundome parking lot on Reinhardt Drive off Cajundome Boulevard.
