Louisiana shoppers of the popular dollar store chain, Family Dollar could have compensation coming back to them from the store. The compensation is part of a settlement agreement on a class action lawsuit filed against Family Dollar Stores and affected customers in Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee.

The lawsuit stems from a rat infestation at a Family Dollar Store warehouse in Arkansas. That infestation forced the closure of some 400 Family Dollar Store locations. If you purchased items from one of the affected stores during the dates specified in the class action lawsuit you might be eligible for compensation from the company.

Many of you may have already received an email notice from Family Dollar Stores informing you of the settlement opportunity and how to apply for compensation. If you did not get an email notification but believe you are entitled to compensation you will need to fill out a settlement claim. That can be done at this link.

Customers who are eligible for compensation under the proposed settlement will need to file those claims before January 9th. You'll have to swear under penalty of perjury that your claim form is correct. And that you did shop at a Family Dollar Store in one of the affected states between January 2020 and February 18, 2022.

Pending one more legal hearing the class action settlement is expected to be finalized on or about April 5th of next year. The compensation for customers will come in the form of a $25 gift card.
