(KMDL-FM) As Louisiana has slowly slipped out of our summer mindset and into the mindset that will carry us out of the heat and into the gumbo weather of fall. The fall mindset in Louisiana does include gumbo. Of course, we will spend time thinking about football on many levels. There are several of us who will focus on hunting. I am sure you all recall the trials and tribulations of the Twinkie from a few years ago, right? Well, now another Hostess Icon, the Ding Dong, is facing scrutiny. But this time the scrutiny is from the company itself.

Why Have Hostess Ding Dongs Been Recalled?

Hostess is recalling several "lots" of Ding Dongs over concerns about mold contamination. The company believes the contamination may have occurred during production when a piece of equipment created or led to conditions that could produce mold.
