Iowa Double Homicide Over the Weekend Not Random Act of Violence

Investigators looking into the details of a case in which two people were killed over the weekend have a person of interest in custody in the case. Officials with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office were quick to make the distinction that the person in custody is a person of interest and not officially a suspect in the deaths of two Iowa residents that occurred in their home on Saturday.

Over the weekend, Scot Martin Kid of Kinder was taken into custody in Eunice on charges of felony theft. Officials in Calcasieu Parish believe that Kid could be connected to the deaths of Joan and Zoren O'Brien of Iowa. A family member said the O'Brien's were discovered dead in their home on Saturday.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Tony Mancuso is asking for your help in solving the case. Investigators do not believe the deaths were simply random acts of violence. So, if you have information concerning this case you are asked to contact the Sheriff's Office by dialing 491-3605.
