A strong line of thunderstorms pushed across much of South Louisiana on Wednesday morning and now we're beginning to see photos of damage across the area.

One photo sent to us shows power poles snapped and leaning across a roadway.

According to ChefMikeb Bell, the photo you see here was taken near Super Looper in Opelousas and as you can see here, the poles were snapped just about their base.

In another photo that Bernadette Lee came across on social media, you see more poles in St. Landry Parish across the roadway.

This photo was taken near the town of Beggs.

Another photo from Mamou, Louisiana showed a large tree across their main roadway. In many of the photos from Wednesday morning, powerlines were tangled in trees or around poles impacted by high winds.

Thus, thousands of people were without power as storms swept across Acadiana.

Here is another tree that caused a traffic issue on Wednesday morning in South Louisiana.

Another issue some faced in Louisiana as storms pounded the area was flooding. Flash flood warnings affected some as storms dropped several inches of rain in some parts of the state in a short period of time.
