Fire Station in South Louisiana Hit by Bullets During Shooting
A fire station in South Louisiana was littered with bullets after a shootout took place right across the street from it.
KLFY TV-10 reports that the Ville Platte Fire Station was hit by bullets when one subject shot back at someone who shot him across the street from the fire station.
Two firefighters were in the station when the building was hit, but luckily there were no reports of injuries from within the station.
However, the building did have bullets penetrate the exterior walls and a mirror on one of the trucks was damaged by a bullet.
A spokesperson with the Ville Platte Police Department says that the area of the city has had previous issues with shootings at the apartment complex near the fire station.
One person was injured in the shooting Monday night and police say that an investigation into this incident is ongoing.
Like other small towns and cities in Acadiana, this isn't the first shooting in recent months and many within these communities are now concerned for their safety.
