Yummy Fried Chicken Thrown to Enthusiastic Crowd at the New Iberia Mardi Gras Parade

(New Iberia, LA) - Whether you live in Louisiana or are visiting here, one of the major attractions is the way Acadiana knows how to throw a party. The New Iberia Bayou Mardi gras Association Parade was no exception.

The parade was held on Saturday, January 17, and featured dozens of colorful floats, bands, and performers to please the crowd.

At the parade, crowd-goers can be seen calling out for different throws, whether it be beads, plush stuffed animals, or footballs. The parade seemed to have everything. One of the items that was a particular hit with the crowd was delivered by a chicken.

Mama's Fried Chicken Thrown at New Iberia Mardi Gras Parade

The crowd was thoroughly excited to see a large chicken mascot from Mama's Fried Chicken in New Iberia walking the parade route to throw out something hot and delicious!

You guessed it! The representatives of Mama's Fried Chicken were throwing wrapped pieces of fried chicken into the crowd, and the crowd loved it!

Mama's Fried Chicken recently opened up in New Iberia at the end of 2025, and according to residents, people line up to get their hands on the tasty chicken.

Their representative were in the parade Saturday in New Iberia, and people were happy to catch what they were throwing to the crowd.
