(Lafayette, Louisiana) - A photo and video sent to us show a hilarious misspelling on a Lafayette Police unit.

Look, we all make mistakes when it comes to spelling, and as fast as we all move, typos are very common now, but we can't help but chuckle when someone notices a misspelling on a police unit in Lafayette.

A photo taken in downtown Lafayette shows the police unit in question, and we don't know how this happened.

The police unit, which appears newer, has markings and decals like those of all other police units in Lafayette; however, the word "Police" is misspelled.

I asked the person who posted this whether it was edited, and she sent me a video to prove the misspelling is legit. This mishap isn't on the police department, but rather, on those who put the lettering and numbers on this unit.

So, if you see this unit on the streets in Lafayette, don't question your vision and don't make an appointment at LaHaye Total Eye Care just yet; there is a misspelling on the police unit, and the department seems to be aware of it now.

Personally, I think that LPD should keep it as such so that they not only get more exposure online but also make for a good laugh when the unit is on the road. Let's just not include this LPD unit on LIVE PD or Cops.

And to prove this still shot wasn't edited, here's a video from Cajun Bail Bonds of the unit leaving the parish jail in downtown Lafayette. Now I need to take a photo alongside this unit.

In an update, a spokesperson with LPD says they are aware of the misspelling on the unit and that it will be replaced today, Wednesday, June 24.
