(Lake Charles, Louisiana) - A driver who was driving recklessly on the interstate near Lake Charles nearly crashed their vehicle while attempting to pass another vehicle on the interstate.

I know we are all in a hurry these days, but videos like the one below should remind us all to slow down.

Scott Williamson has a dash cam mounted in his vehicle, and it captured the moment a small SUV nearly crashed after repeatedly speeding past other vehicles.

The small SUV is seen traveling very close to a small truck, then speeds past it and ultimately cuts it off on the interstate.

Well, the driver, apparently in a hurry, gets stuck behind a slower-moving vehicle, and then the truck passes the small SUV that zoomed past it. As the vehicles approach an exit/interchange, the small SUV, not concerned about anyone else's safety, tries to pass more vehicles, and that's when the crash nearly happens.

Near Crash on Louisiana Interstate

What the SUV driver doesn't know is that traffic cones/barrels are out for construction, and it narrowly misses them while trying to pass other vehicles. I don't know if the reckless driver intended to head toward Lake Charles, but after this near crash, the driver had no option but to take that exit.

Again, let the video below remind you to slow down and not always rush. The last thing you want to do while traveling at high speed on the interstate is put yourself or others in danger. This driver is very lucky that he or she didn't seriously hurt themselves or anyone else on the interstate at the time.

How to Report A Reckless Driver in Louisiana

If you ever see someone driving recklessly in the Bayou State, keep a safe distance and immediately contact the Louisiana State Police by dialing *LSP.

Never engage or try to stop someone who may be driving recklessly; you don't know what they may be going through or what they may have in their possession.

Now, let's look at the incident on the interstate in Lake Charles.
