Some really sad news coming from the campus of UL-Lafayette.

The police department on campus has announced that a long-time officer has passed away.

According to the social media post by UL Police, "Lieutenant Billy Abrams passed away on the evening of Wednesday, October 11, 2023, peacefully among close family following an illness."

While all of his colleagues will miss him, he will also be missed by the many whom he came into contact with while serving the UL community.

Personally, we got to know Lt. Abrams by attending and hosting many events on the UL campus and he was always welcoming and very polite to us.

We here will keep Lt. Abrams, his family, and colleagues in our thoughts and prayers.

Here's the official announcement from UL Police.
