Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton was taken to a Florida hospital Tuesday after an alarming TikTok livestream prompted viewers to contact emergency services out of concern for his safety.

The 48-year-old media personality, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., appeared on a livestream that quickly drew widespread attention online. Viewers who watched the broadcast contacted authorities after becoming concerned by what they were seeing and hearing.

According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, deputies received multiple calls regarding an individual livestreaming acts of self-harm. Authorities did not identify Hilton by name, but multiple national media outlets confirmed he was the individual involved.

Deputies said they worked with family members to de-escalate the situation after learning he was alone inside his home. Officials said he was safely recovered and transported to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation.

Police Say Situation Was Safely Resolved

Initial reports on social media suggested there may have been a barricade situation at Hilton's Miami-area home. However, law enforcement ultimately chose to disengage while continuing to monitor the situation, helping bring the incident to a peaceful conclusion.

As the situation unfolded, Hilton's TikTok livestream was removed and his account was later suspended.

A Pioneer Of Celebrity Blogging

Hilton rose to prominence after launching PerezHilton.com in 2004, becoming one of the internet's most recognizable celebrity gossip bloggers during the early days of online entertainment news.

Born in Miami, he adopted the "Perez Hilton" moniker as a play on celebrity Paris Hilton's name during the height of her popularity.

In June, Hilton announced he had relocated back to Miami with his children and his mother after previously living in Las Vegas.

He has continued creating celebrity news and pop culture content across social media, often referring to himself as the "original influencer."

Officials have not released any additional information as the situation remains under investigation.
