New Year’s Noon – Shaking Out the Good Stuff at Children’s Museum
We all know the drill, the clock approaches 12 on December 31st and we are supposed to be prepared with noisemakers, fireworks, and if we are lucky perhaps a New Year's kiss to welcome the beginning of another year. That's all well and good if you're of a certain age, but what if you're not old enough to go out or stay up late?
That's where our Morton Salt Week's Island Shaking Out the Good Stuff Spotlight is shining brightly on the Children's Museum of Acadiana. You see the folks at the Children's Museum of Acadiana have made an important discovery. There are two "12 o'clocks" each day and you don't have to wait until the one in the middle of the night to celebrate the new year.
For the past 28 years New Year's Noon has been a thing at the Children's Museum of Acadiana and this year it will be a really big thing. The fun gets started at 10 am with lots of live music games and exhibits to explore. While The Rouge Krewe pumps out the tunes you'll be amazed at the Amazing Bacon Stilt Walker and you'll certainly want to try your hand at winning prizes and playing the different games that will be on hand.
There is an admission charge for New Year's Noon the cost is $16 per person and includes all activities, games, prizes, wearables, and access to the exhibits. Children 12 months and under are admitted free and if you're already a member of the Children's Museum of Acadiana you get a 50% savings.
The Children's Museum of Acadiana is located at 201 East Congress in downtown Lafayette. Your participation in New Year's Noon helps fund the facility and the exhibits they provide throughout the year. This is why we've chosen to shine the Shaking Out the Good Stuff Spotlight from Morton Salt on this special event.
Shaking Out the Good Stuff is a weekly feature of Morton Salt's Week's Island Facility that seeks to highlight good things going on in our community. Having a facility like the Children's Museum that fosters science, learning, and curiosity among young people is one of the many reasons that makes South Louisiana such a great place to live and work.
Speaking of working, if you'd like to make a change in your employment for the new year Morton Salt's Week's Island Facility is hiring. They have many great positions that offer top pay, and great benefits, and you'll be at home every night. You can find out more about those jobs, here.
