RamBand Boosters Gumbo Cookoff – Shaking Out the Good Stuff
Today's Morton Salt Week's Island Shaking Out the Good Stuff spotlight might actually be called "stirring up" the good stuff because this week the good deed spotlight is shining on the Acadiana High School Band Boosters Club and their Inaugural Gumbo Cookoff and Cake Bingo.
Fortunately, for all parties concerned, the gumbo makers, the cake bakers, and those of us who just plan on showing up with a pocket full of cash and a healthy appetite this event won't take place until Sunday, January 26th. So, despite the fact that gumbo goes great with cold weather, we won't have to deal with the snow and ice when we get together over the weekend.
That flyer should tell you just about everything you need to know. We do know that organizers are still accepting gumbo cooking teams and they'd still appreciate donations of sweets and baked goods. If you're interested in making a cake, cupcakes, pies, or individually wrapped treats you're encouraged to contact the RamBand Boosters at acadianahighbandboosters@gmail.com
The Acadiana High Wreckin' Ram Band will use monies generated from this event to help defray travel costs for the band's upcoming appearance in New York City at the St. Patrick's Day Parade.
Morton Salt's Week's Island Facility uses this platform, Shaking Out the Good Stuff as a means to highlight groups and individuals that are working to make life in South Louisiana better. Our high school band parents are some of the hardest-working volunteers in the area. Not only for the Acadiana High Program but band booster clubs across the region work really hard to support their young musicians too.
Coming out on Sunday, January 26th to the Scott Knights of Columbus Hall would help out this cause a lot. And if you'd like to help your own cause and improve your current employment situation Morton Salt's Week's Island Facility has some great opportunities for hard-working folks who want great compensation and benefits they can really use. And they like to sleep in their own bed in their own home every night.
Find out more about those opportunities here. And support the RamBand Boosters this Sunday.
