John Schneider’s Livingston Parish Property Up For Sale Following Default, Seizure
Things don't appear too good right now for "Dukes of Hazzard" star and country singer John Schneider.
His property in Holden, Louisiana, which houses John Schneider Studios, is being put up for sale this month after he defaulted on his mortgage by more than $240,000.
Court records in Livingston Parish show that the Sheriff's Office there seized the 57-acre tract of land at 16050 Florida Boulevard in Holden in November.
First Guaranty Bank filed a lawsuit in October claiming that Schneider had not made his monthly payments on the property since July 28. As a result, the outstanding balance at the time of their filing was $242,803 in principal, interest and late fees.
The land is scheduled to go up for sale on January 16th at 10 am at the Livingston Parish Courthouse. The proceeds from the sale will go to the bank in an attempt to repay the debt.
According to Schneider's public relations manager, the actor/musician has declined to comment on the sale.
Schneider has held several events at the property, some as recent as December, when "Bo's Christmas Bozaar" took place. Tickets for that two-day event cost from $50 to $150.
He also held the Hazzard County Christmas Lights Show during the holidays where drivers could pay $20 to view a lights display.
The studio property includes two houses, sound stages, a lake, editing suites, a baseball field and five acres of giant bamboo.
