For the second straight week an Acadiana area high school student has been arrested for having a gun in their vehicle.

A Kaplan High student was arrested for having guns, ammunition and alcohol on school grounds.

During a search at the school, Kaplan Police say one of their K-9 officers alerted them of firearms, ammunition, alcohol, and wildlife killed out of season in the vehicle of a student.

According to police, the student was then arrested and charged for having firearms, ammunition, and alcohol on school grounds.

The student has since been released back to their parents.
