Our boys did it again. This time it was more with great pitching and defense moreso than the offensive explosion that they've come to be known for. A 2-0 shutout of the Southeast team from Warner Robbins, Georgia has the Cardiac Cajuns in the winner's game versus Montana on Sunday at 1pm.

The game will be on our TV partner KATC TV-3 (ABC) and also on our sister station Sports Radio ESPN 1420.

As far the opening game of the 2011 Little League World Series, it was another nail-biter. After scrapping across single runs in the 3rd and 4th innings, Lafayette got into some trouble with the team from Georgia in the last inning. Lafayette starting pitcher Ethan Hines and timely defense stiffled the opposition's bats for the first 5 frames but ran into trouble late. Georgia loaded the bases with no outs and Hines was lift for reliever Haden Erbe. No problem apparently as Erbe got the next three batters out to secure the win.

Warner-Robbins falls into the loser's bracket and will take on South Dakota on Saturday. The loser will be out of contention in the tournament.
