Things have sadly gone a bit awry in Waco, Texas for the Southwest Region of the Little League Tournament. Three teams were sent home yesterday after having at least one positive COVID-19 test.
The Lafayette League All-Stars were dominant in their opening-round game of the Southwest Region in Waco, Texas last night, cruising to a 6-1 win over Texas West.
The Lafayette Little League Junior League All Stars (13-14 year old) are now 2-0 in pool play after defeating Massapequa, New York, (US East) by the score of 5-0 in the Junior League World Series in Taylor, Michigan.
The Lafayette Little Leaguers (13-14 year olds) won the State Tournament over the host Shreveport team by doing what they had been doing the whole tournament - run ruling their opponent.
An Amani Larry 2-run homer in the bottom of the 6th inning proved to be the difference as the Lafayette Little League All Star Team (11-12 year old) lost 10-8 to the All-Star team from Bossier City in the State Tournament at Chappapeela Sports Park in Hammond.
