A special five-day camp that will teach youngsters the beginning arts of filmmaking is scheduled to start next week in Lafayette. Ready, Set, Make is designed to teach and encourage youngsters aged 15 to 17 who are interested in the art of making movies.

Space in the program is limited to just 12 students. Those students will be chosen based upon their application. The camp is being facilitated at AOC Community Media in Lafayette and will begin on Monday, June 17th. However, the deadline to submit an application for the camp is Monday, June 3rd.

The camp hopes to take participants through the entire process of making and creating a film. The program will cover everything from pre-production to set design to script writing to production schedules and the actual creation of a film project.

Once completed the project will be given consideration for participation in the Southern Screen Film Festival in the short films category. That festival is scheduled for November 7th through the 10th.
