Could this be the weekend that Ragin Cajun football fans won't need an umbrella? If Dave Baker's forecast holds true it certainly looks like a perfect weekend for football and tailgating too. We're going to have to get wet between now and then but like Dolly Parton says, "If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain"

The forecast for today is calling for a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms. The current radar scan from the National Weather Service is already showing significant convection developing over the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. This activity is moving to the north east and is currently pushing onshore in Cameron and Vermilion Parishes.

Showers and thundershowers will decrease in coverage and intensity during the evening hours but tomorrow a 60% chance of rain is in the forecast. Most of the rain should move out the area during the day Friday as an approaching cold front will clear things out for the weekend.

Speaking of the weekend we could experience the coolest temperatures of the fall season so far. Not only will the air be cool but it will be very dry, that makes it feel even more comfortable. Ragin Cajun fans will want a light jacket for Saturday night and I would be willing to bet that gumbo just might be bubbling in a few tailgate tents before kickoff.
