It was a very pleasant weekend across Acadiana. The skies were blue and the air was filled with the sounds of buzzing lawnmowers and weed whackers in my neighborhood. For those of us that didn't get to the yard work over the weekend, it looks like we'll have a few more days to get it done.

High pressure remains in control of Acadiana's weather. That means lower humidity and lots of sunny skies at least for the early part of the week. Later in the week the high pressure is expected to move off to the east and this will allow a return flow of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico to move into the area.

An approaching storm system could affect Acadiana's weather by week's end. The timing is uncertain as of the latest forecast model run but it could be a significant rainmaker for the area once it arrives. That wouldn't be such a bad thing since many parts of the area are beginning to show early signs of drought conditions. How much rain and when we might get it will have to wait a few more days to answer those questions.
